My single-wide roommates were on the road to EUGENE Oregon from St. George UT and travelling my route, but in reverse! Pretty strange coincidence! Their truck had broken down right in front of the Inn so they are staying until their truck is fixed. The owner of the Little A’Le’Inn offered to drive them the 40+ miles to Las Vegas to get their part as a good citizen gesture. You don’t tend to find people every day that are so caring and generous. They returned yesterday, but with the wrong part! So… they went out again this morning at 5 AM for another run. They were thinking a little more clearly time and left with broken part in hand. What a wonderful thing! People can be so nice and helpful no matter where you find yourself. I am a member of the Lions Club International. This group hands out tokens of appreciation to people that go out of their way to give and help other people. The owner of the Little A Le’Inn gets a medal, well done.
My roommate is there as I am packing up and gets a call, ‘they found the right part!’ This gets them to Oregon on time! Nice little story.
I eat my simple but wonderful breakfast, pay cash… and head on to Las Vegas. I am riding away and thinking to myself… was that real… I didn’t see any real flying saucers… but then it dawns on me, I should have been looking for Aliens, not Saucers! Why would they show me their saucers… dumb me!
It’s back to the desert heat and long straight highway roads. I’m glad that I carry a hydration pack on my back. It really is the best gear addition that I’ve ever done! I’ll be in LV soon. I called ahead and will get some quick repairs for the Road King and meet up with my wife, Linda. Our trip begins from there. I also meet up with my uncle for his 83rd birthday! My cousin, his girlfriend, a couple of his Volleyball buddy are there too. I’ll be going dark for a bit. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, baby!
