Today’s ride was pretty unspectacular. We went through much of Navajo reservation land, spent a lot of time on the interstate and basically made a beeline to Albuquerque to meet up with friends. The Interstate scenery reminded us of the cartoon movie CARS. It must be because we are on Route 66! J Linda and I did get to the California portion of Route 66 a couple of years back. This trip catches the highway a little bit so we able reminisce as we stopped at a real Route 66 diner for lunch. The Pancakes there are wonderful. Something is quite different in the taste and they say they put some corn something in them. Yummy!
The highlight was a visit with my good friends that are all now in Albuquerque. We immediately felt at home. We had so much fun talking about old and new times. I learned of the current trend of electronic smoke products and the very high end products and systems. These are fine custom hand made items that have that buttery smooth feel that only hand crafted precision machinery can have. I am immediately drawn to the fine machinery part! If you are ever in Albuquerque, there is a new store being built as we speak. It will be the trendy spot for this called AeroVapors. That’s www.aerovapors.com or on Facebook at aero vapors. You’ll learn more about it that you could imagine.
A perfect evening, perfect barbeque, a perfect day.
Tomorrow we are off for Durango, CO. You know what that means… and then on to the Million Dollar Highway…
Diner on Route 66 in Grant, AZ which is also the southern entrance to Choco Canyon.
Whos the funny one now?!
What welcome fun and what a cool way to reconnect with friends from the past. It all comes right back. It just reminds me what a wonderful life I’ve had! J
