Sidi SRS Crossfire Motocross Boots version 1
I’ve worn the SIDI Crossfire SRS version 1 boot for 3 years now. I love these boots. Competing boots have increased in price and so have these. The new version 2 boot is now $575. I checked the updates and feel they are worthwhile changes and worth the additional cost. Really, the only way that you can justify the high cost for these boots is that they last so long. And with the replaceable parts is really amazing how long they last in high performance mode. For me, they have ample support for a medium speed old timer. I am sure that with regular sole replacements would stay stiff and strong enough for any ability racer. I love the flexibility of the ankle pivot system and the strength, support and protection that this boot provides. You can replace the plastic pieces on the boot in addition to the sole (Sole Replacement System). This boot requires almost no break in period. Sidi Crossfire SRS boots don’t have an inner bootie design, so are narrower and provide feel to the motorcycle controls. That suits my riding style where I actually like to feel the brake and shifter on my foot/toe. The cam lock buckle system is the best that I’ve ever used. It’s easy to use even when caked with mud! The only gripe that I have is that I would like an option of harder/stiffer plastic. The plastic on the version 2 boot looks stiffer and should provide that additional hardness that I am looking for.
My next boot will be the Sidi Crossfire 2 SRS boot. I’ll do a write up on those in the future. You can still find these brand new and discounted at $350.00.
