Cut the button thread to remove the buttons. I needed to remove the buttons because I was lowering the buttons as well as the seat height.

Here are the button tie canvas strips… one strip for two buttons. These are used to prevent the thread from pulling through the thread holes. So the strips keep the buttons from pulling out.

Here is the seat foam from the bottom view. You can see the contour of the seat pan. I’ll try to keep the stock contour so it will lay on the seat pan evenly.
Here is the exposed seat pan and seat cover rolled back. Notice the excellent construction with a fiberglass seat pan, thick but soft covers and multi layer foam glued together to prevent slippage. The cover is held with strong rivets.
